Thinking determines feelings and actions but understandably it’s not always easy to stay on top of thoughts when life is painful and challenging so many areas. Start your internal conversation with these questions:

  • Do I see myself as a total failure if one area in my life is not functioning? If so why?
  • Do I place all my self-worth in my ability to provide for others? If so why?
  • Do I care for myself when I’m hurting or berate myself? If not why?
  • Am I allowing myself opportunities to feel good? If not why not?

There are so many areas that can be within your control in this time. Examine your internal thoughts and change those self-defeating messages that influence so much of how you see yourself and define your worth. The more that you can healthily control in this time, the better you will feel.
